Moving On

Moving On

A Poem by Amber_A
"

I can see you have slipped away from me. Farther away by the day, So far I cannot reach you, Cannot pull you back.

"

It's time.

Time for me to move on.

I can see you have,

And now I need to as well.

You confirmed my suspicion tonight.

My worst fear come to life.

I can see you have slipped away from me.

Farther away by the day,

So far that I cannot reach you,

Cannot pull you back.

Holding on to you ins't good for me,

Isn't good for you

I have to let you go,

Let you live your life,

So maybe I can live mine.

Don't worry about me,

I'll be fine.

I will hurt for a while,

But time heals all wounds.

I will recover,

Maybe one day I might be able to call on you again,

To fill this void that you've left,

To be able to call you my best friend again.

One can't help holding on to their first love,

But at one time or another,

You must let go.

You have to move on.

Very moving and poignant work. I doubt if that void will ever be filled and the writer will be the main sufferer.
