vermilion

A Poem by Amber V. Black

This is it.

This is where we stand.

After two years;

I guess everything I felt

wasn't enough for you -

I guess my own flesh and blood

wasn’t enough to make you stay.

And after two years,

 - my reason

 is still you.

I guess you didn’t feel enough though,

to get your heart through this month.

I guess you weren’t meant to stay.

I was always too much,

too much emotion,

I always had too many words.

I was Fire.

And you,

 -- you,

you were nothing but

Cold,

you were Ice,

and together,

we just Smoked.

And in this smoke

I have lost who I am.

because of you,

I am not who I once was.

I’m lost now,

ahhh a love lost but an opportunity to remember who you are, a chance at remembering never to give your soul away again because it is your soul that defines you and reminds you that no matter what you can only see vision through your eyes and not everybody will share this vision which it is why it is always important to put oneself first to have any attempt at making all of those around you happy too ...

i like your writing but do hope you steer clear of love lost poems at some point .. you seem to have so much more depth and wisdom to offer :) ... just a thought x
