MagnoliaA Poem by Amber RozeMy favorite FlowerLarge dark green leaves smooth on top velvet beneath Varnished, shellacked elements waxed not a vine or bush large branched tree Naked in its purity representing divinity largest flower ever to see pristine Exquisite blossoming vision white as spun cotton petals bruise at the gentlest touch Dark, center seeds billow much like inside a pomegranate brown husks protect its buds boisterous bloom floating upon deep lake of leaves The scent of summer's south up and down the streets of my house Louisiana state flower Imagine the perfume of heaven perfuming the air elegant to all the senses It can't be bottled or recreated needs the sun and rain and soil of the south Like bright white stars speckling an emerald green canopy massive magnolia tree
