Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Amberlilies

Sleep.

To forfeit mind & function.
To abandon sense and sentience.
A deep retired mental junction.
Through dense fog from whence I spent defense.
But didn’t hold the gumption.
A feathered crown upon my head now sits.
An overwrought assumption.

Sleep.

To tread mystic, cockeyed fable.
To hallucinate tomfoolery.
And portray that the unable.
With the wind spread wings of euphory.
Where prudence be disabled.
Immersed with boundless Liberty.
Illusions commonly unstable.

Sleep.

To shroud unbroken sorrow.
Intoxicate the senses.
To prolong forthcoming morrows.
Surrender thine pretenses.
A veil, blessed be thee to borrow.
Till the agony commences.
Ignore, forget, pretend, old friend.

Sleep.

About
Writing is a way for me to figure out what is on my mind. I don't care what form it comes out in or even if there is no form at all. Hell, it doesn't even have to make sense or follow standard grammat.. more..
