Love Is...

Here is a quick morning "brain starter" writing I just completed about my thoughts on love.

Love is a loaded word.

Filled with passion, emotion and expectations. It’s an enchanted, mysterious sentiment. The overwhelming ecstasy coursing through the body is a powerful, yet sensitive entity.

When challenged with change, that entity of Love feels threatened and afraid. Like a wild animal, Love, may face challenges by lashing out as a defensive mechanism. Or, it may simply depart; to avoid the chance of pain.

But for some when faced with change, something unsimilar develops. It may result from ignorance, the hope that change is only a trend; something that will pass with the season. It may be authentic, irrefutable, mutual union. Whatever it is, when two forces come together, accepting that change is a part of every aspect of life; something wonderful happens.

Love matures into a word filled with trust, dependability, affection and undying loyalty. This Love, fears nothing. This Love, stands tall. This Love, sings soft melodies until the dark comfort of a deep slumber befalls. This Love, knows of change and welcomes it graciously knowing that every chapter of a Love story bears new adventures unknown �" much like falling in Love to begin with.

Love is not something that can be labeled. Love is a journey of life; and since we are only given one [life], it is imperative to live it completely.

Very nice and I agree. "Love" is tossed around too readily. Love can be wonderful and it can be detrimental. Finding two people that can realize loves true worth eventually is priceless and rare. Thank you for this.

No, no poem. I do not see any poetic element whatsoever to be calling this a poem and that aspect was misleading. What makes this writing poetic for you?
Aside from sharing your opinion on the matters of love, there's not much in it. I disagree with the choice of words you used, for example that love is a "loaded word" or that "love feels threatened and afraid", but that really is not the issue here.
Now, this are all good thoughts but they have been ruminated upon for centuries. There is no originality, something that would make it different from the thousand other writings contemplating and musing on love, there's nothing really thought-provoking or a "metaphysical breakthrough", or whatever.
