The MoonA Poem by AmberLeighStory of two teenage girls told in third person.
Under the moonlight,
they sit and talk.
Two teenage girls;
Lives full of pain.
"Look, the moon is bleeding," One says.
"That looks so cool..." The other said.
"They played our song last night." One said.
She was talking about her and the guy she loved.
"You're lucky.. He loves you," The other replied.
"You're loved, too."
"I doubt it." The other sighs.
She was thinking about her lost loves.
"I miss him so much," The other said.
"I know.. You'll get him back."
"I won't. I fucked things up."
They got lost in their thoughts.
"The moon is still bleeding," One said.
"It's bleeding for us." The other replies.
"He feels sorry for us."
They both touch their arms; wrists; legs.
One pulled her jeans up;
Revelaing lines that were bright red.
Criss-crossed red;
Blood.
The other pulls her sleeves up;
Showing dark lines;
Designs, all bright red;
Blood.
That night, those two
Teenagers talked for hours.
About boys, parents, 'friends';
Pain.
They thought about
All the heartache
The sex and drugs and
Razors.
That night, beneath
The bleeding Moon,
Two best friends
Cried.
