Chapter 2A Chapter by Amazonia_08Rosileeyah, the shapeshifter sent back into time is going to the make to make a withdraw towards an errand she doesn't want to go to..I walked down the slightly crowded streets-though not as crowded as they were in my time- and tried to avoid bumping into anyone. I may look like I belong here, but I don’t, and the proof lies in the way I would react to several different situations around here if I wasn’t careful. I needed to go to the bank to grab some spare change because of an errand I have been avoiding for days now. I looked down at my nails and internally groaned for the second time today. I had on dark galaxy looking nail polish with sparkles in it, and I had just painted them, and now I would have to paint them the typical red or pink crème color. Not many people walked around with dark nail polish around here, and once again, questions were not something I was a big fan of. I rounded a corner and almost fell into a person clearly taller than me, who smelled of a masculine musk. It wasn’t a bad smell, but it totally caught me off guard. “Sorry,” I mumbled in his chest before pulling away. I attempted to continue around him and precede the next few steps until the bank, but he placed a hand on each shoulder and I was forced to make eye contact with the position I was in. “Are you alright there Miss?” His voice wasn’t deep, but it had more of a mellow southern drawl to it which I swear was familiar. I pondered on where I had heard it before, and didn’t notice him waiting for a response. “Miss?” “I’m alright. Are you?” I replied waking out of my daze. He smiled a half smile, and nodded slightly. “I am if you are. I’m Will.” He let go of my shoulders and held out it hand. I took it, and noticed how much smaller my hands were compared to his. “Rosileeyah. You can call my Rosi if you want.” “Rosi. It’s a very beautiful name. So I would assume it would be fitting for a beautiful lady.” He said, giving that half smile again. “I hope I fall into you again, but I must get to work before I’m late.” With that statement he was off, and I didn’t realize what he looked like until I turned around and watched his tall lean figure strode down the sidewalk passing black cars; his reflection on each one that he passed. I made a one-eighty and made my way towards the bank. I stuck my hands in my pockets to not draw attention to their color, and walked up to a teller with a black top hat who was counting a stack of what looked like twenties. President Jackson is on those, and how much I wish I could make him feel as terrible as he was to others some times. The teller didn’t look up when I approached, so I made slight coughing sound to get his attention. He glanced up and asked me what I would need. “I would like to withdraw seven hundred dollars”. He nodded, and went to his drawer. “What would a young lady like you need seven hundred dollars for?” “Christmas shopping,” I said rolling my eyes. “Name?” “Rosileeyah Chavez” “Birthday?” “Jul 22, 1920, and my social is here”. I handed him my card. Social Security was just invented so I got one of the first few cards printed out. “You know who I am; I don’t know why you ask for my stuff every freaking time.” He finished his business and handed me my card back. “All looks in order.” He counted my change and gave me a wink. He moved his head closer to me. “How’s it coming along Rosie?” I sighed. “Stressful, but I have to go to this stupid Christmas party coming up whether or not I want to go Trevor.” He smiled, and he pulled his head back, making his brown hair fall back into place. “Just remember to get the blue dress, and paint those nails of yours to match.” He winked again. I looked down at the counter and noticed that my hands were on display. I stuffed them into my pockets and scowled at Trevor. “Just give me the stupid money Trev, I have other things to do you know,’ I replied teasingly. “You’re still my date right?” he asked. “You know it. So excuse me while I waste the next few hours torturing myself by having to shop,” I groaned. “Will do
and have a good day Rosie. Is it still okay if I come over later to hang out?
I’ve been bored since you decided to venture towards I nodded.
“Of course. See you later.” I folded the stack of money and put it into my
right pocket. I passed the next customer behind me and walked out the double
wooden doors back into the cold winter air of Now I had to go shopping for a stupid party I didn’t want to go to, and was not thrilled at all. I’d rather be fighting crime and doing what I was supposed to. Well, I might as well start and get it over with, and what better place to start that with getting the dress first? © 2014 Amazonia_08Author's Note
