Battered And BruisedA Poem by AmaunetBattered and bruised, though I may be, I'm still standing tall; praying to not fall.
I've been through a storm, my boat tossed and turned, I'm still striving hard; my compass is true.
Though wind and rain, drive me to the point of return, I'm still moving forward; even if only a crawl.
Whatever the path, whatever the trial, I'll stand and I'll fight; and live to be God's champion.
You say it's impossible, I say that's not true, for God is my strength; no mountain is too tall.
You say I'm niave, perhaps that may be, but better niave than without a dream; my imagination will do.
A coward I'm not, nor have I forgotten, I still know what love is; even though I may bawl.
Honest completely, though you might fight against it, I won't tell you a lie; nor will I be repenant.
Love is a chance, and it's worth taking, even when pain may result; I'll answer the call.
I'll fight for my love, my life, and my faith; I won't run away when the monsters say boo.
And so now in closing, I'll answer quite bluntly, I love you completely; for the long haul. © 2008 AmaunetAuthor's Note
