Do YOU?

Do YOU?

A Poem by Amata Luna
"

Think about stupidity, we have more than a million too many. >.<

"

Do YOU?

I hate it when someone turns their back

When someone speaks and you listen not

I hate it when time is suspended like a rock

And you’re just as dumb, oh you should have rot!

Why would you not listen?

I’m pleading my case

Why would you not talk?

Is this how you think sane?

Did I do it alone or we’ve been together?

It was as if it’s my fault, my fault alone to bear

Are you blind not to see that his eyes are like yours?

Are you deaf not to hear that he speaks just like you?

Are you mute you can’t speak the obvious truth affront?

Or you’re really walking dead with a promised burnt now in your head?

Did you tell me you’ll return? Did you tell me you do love?

Did I hear right when you told me, soon we’ll be a family of five?

You and me, three children; us and all to count

Then how come that you left me for someone else to love?

Did you see your boy’s tears; did you hear the first he laughed?

Did you hear him say his first words or saw when he first got up?

Did you see how he cried when wounded, hear his guffaws aloud?

Maybe not ‘cause your absent, far away from us

A year had passed another year my little boy is now a man

He looks just like you and speaks like, in fact

But I reared him to be loving, to be honest just enough

Not like you who is cunning, a liar and a roué

Do you think I am a flower; to be plucked and crushed by you?

Now look at your little rose, she gained some thorns too.

Do you think it alright, when you left your flower on the bed?

Now see how prickly she can be, see how bloody your hands and see

You made the wrong decision; you assume the worst in mind

You promised all that’s lying and left it all behind

Now that you are dying, you’re asking for your son,

Well stupid let me tell you, he’s never met his man

But let me give you your last wish, before you even cry

Now tell me do you regret it? You regret you left him out?

So now I hear you’re sorry, you’re sorry you’ve been mad

If only you have loved us and loved us dear and true,

I don’t think you will leave me or the son you never knew…

A poem inspired by those children who has been left without a father... I just got sad with one guy I know who lived without a father and now that he saw his father, he was told he already has another family. For a freaking 15 years he was fatherless and his father had three children and a wife and enjoying :'(. How cruel life can be. I'm pretty emotional about the kid but I just vent it out here. Sorry folks. But I do hope you'll enjoy reading this. I just placed myself on the shoes of those mothers and went to feel how would I feel if ever I come to be in such a place...

The last line is so touching.
The entire piece is so touching.
The hurt, the anger, the pain of the woman and her kid is so eminent.
The theme is superb.
A wonderfully written piece.

So sad and emotional. It's hard to live your whole life with only one supportive parent. This poem is really good, and I like how honest and raw it is. Thank you for the awesome write!
