Uncrowned

Uncrowned

A Poem by Amata Luna
"

A king who is honored has a queen who loves...

"
  u  n  c  r  o  w  n  e  d

Once we were young and both old as time

Together, we were woven, and never even apart

But destiny deemed it not as good as what’s a dime

We have to take sides, we have to be smart

I’m simple, not a lady

A mere maid not a gal

I’m less than what’s a peasant

I’m more to do than I can

You’re gallant and you’re handsome

You’re finer than refined

You’re better than the best ones

You’re chosen from everyone

I am but a girl outside

As simple as can be

You are but a master of all

A rightful ruler that is called

You are a king, I am an orphan

You are to be honored, I am to disguise

I bow to you and you to me

Oh how can this foolery can ever come to be?

For one night we were alone

In such a time that our love had grown

But then again you are a king

And I am not but a pauper’s thing

In your vast kingdom, you have everything

In all your titles, I’m compared to nothing

In all your majesty I am close to the dust

But you gave me such heart, in what fools called lust

Now I choose to let go and leave it all behind

Forgetting that one night, long ago and past

But I’ll carry those memories, the memories of us

Inside me I’ll always be; the bride that never came to pass

Today I’m far away while your pages wait on you

Today I am a nurse to a child you’ll never knew

Today you never know, tomorrow its better not

Today is far ahead, yesterday is far behind

Now that I have your prince, a rightful heir and son

For what worth would it be if I have lost my man?

Maybe someday, somehow and somewhere at such a time

I’ll be called better, better than the queen who stands

For in truth I am a Queen,

A queen who had never been

A queen who will never be

And will never be crowned

Wow this is crazy good. I love your style with this, the organization, font, and word usage weaves together in an interesting way. I don't like her calling herself a peasent and him a king, elevating him by lowering herself. That is unhealthy for anyone to do. Well done Luna.
