nce upon a time, with a tale as old as
time; a forest lies in the midst of an island. Among the forests there are
three trees dreaming something for their lives.
The first tree said "I want to be a
treasure box that I may carry the most valuable of things in the world"
The second tree said "I want to be
the strongest ship that storms and winds can't harm anything of me"
The third tree said "I want to be
the tallest tree that when people look up at me, their eyes will reach the
heavens and remember God..."
After so many years, the trees lived
there waiting for the fulfillment of their dreams. Until one day, loggers went
into the mountain and cut those trees waiting for their dream. The three trees
were carried into different places and there they were cut and shape for their
own purposes.
The first tree was cut and made into box.
But instead of great treasures, it was filled with hay for animals to be fed.
The second tree was also made, but instead of a great ship, the carpenter made
it into a simple boat for him to fish. The third three was also cut according
to the carpenter's desire. But instead of being the tallest, he was just thrown
and stuck elsewhere left to himself.
The trees were very sad, until a day came
to their lives...
...when a woman gave birth to a baby boy
named Jesus; the shepherds offered the box with hay on it for the baby to lie
down. "Behold!” the box exclaimed, "I now carry the most valuable
treasure above heaven and on earth"
...when the boat was out in the ocean, a
storm warned by and strong winds came crashing unto them, the people on the
boat started panicking. But one Man stood up and told the winds “be still!"
and the winds ceased and the waves stilled. Since then, that boat had been the
strongest in the ocean.
...when the time came that the Son of the
Most High was led to be tortured, the tree which was just thrown was brought
forth and has been made into a cross. The slaughtered Lamb carried the cross.
He was nailed into it and there He died as His blood was poured out. Now, every
time people look into that cross, they look up their eyes into the heavens and
remember how great the love and grace that God has given them by sacrificing
His only begotten Son.
At the end, the trees achieved their
dreams: not the way they want it to be but the way God ordained it to be...
