I Want to Be

I want to be so close to You that just by whispering Your name I will feel You near;

that when I sigh, You will go and ask me "why"...

I want to be so close to You that I won't live a day without breathing You in,

that I won't take a step without You, unless You're there beside me, holding me so dear

 

I want to be so close to You that even if I cry I will rejoice

that even in my sleep it's Your face that I would see

I want to be so close to You that it's alright for me to hurt,

because I know amidst the pain, You will be there to carry me through

 

"You are my everything" as I have told you a thousand times

but in my heart I know saying such is not enough

"You are my everything" but I don't always look at You

sometimes You're there with me, but I hold of the world and let You go on Your own

 

I cry sometimes because of my petty actions

but when I come to you I always try not to shed a tear that you already know

I know I'm not that perfect,

but despite all this I love You still and my heart will always will as You have loved me even before

 

That's why I want to be so close to You that I may see You smiling

that I may hear your heartbeat until it becomes the very beating of my heart

I want to be so close to You that I will walk without fear

without apprehension, without even thinking how those people may feel

 

You have loved me before I even knew You and I do love You now...

 

I have given myself to You but I'm not yet broken apart

break me as You would and mold me as You want

To You I give my everything

for You alone will be the greatest love of my life
