A Man in Need

...trusting the Wiser

"On a cold winter night, there was a man driving along the highway when his car lost its brakes. He didn't have time to think thoroughly and immediately jumped out of his car as it sped past through nothingness.

 

Fortunately, he grabbed something like a branch and held on to it as he started praying.

 

"Jesus, help me at this hour. Show me what to do. Spare me from this fear that I'm feeling right now. You alone know where I am and what I should do. Speak now, oh Lord, that I may find my way back. Help me. Help me Lord..."

 

While he was still praying, he heard a powerful little voice saying "Let go of the branch, son."

 

Upon hearing this, the man held on tighter in fear that if he let go of the branch, he may die since he cannot see what's below him so he still hanged on without listening to the voice.

When morning came, authorities found a dead body, frozen while hanging on a dead tree branch two feet away from the ground. The place was a mere 15 minutes walk from the nearest village. Rescuers and authorities have been clearly puzzled why the man held on to the branch causing him to die of hypothermia when he could have walked and sought help."

-At most times, we always ask God to help us especially if there's no more help available for us. Yet, when He gives us the answer, we doubt it in our hearts and just continue on our way instead of trusting Him.

 

Are we hanging on a branch and we're praying to Him to come and help us? Do we let go whenever He says so? Do we really trust Him or we want Him to just do the task for us without us working?

 

Let us always remember, God is always wiser. He is above everything else that we have believed can help us through. When we trust in Him, let us TRUST HIM FULLY. For only in doing so will we know that His word is life and He is ever merciful to those who call upon His name. In trusting Him, you should believe Him. In believing Him, you should have FAITH.
