The Repetition of history
The Cycle of human struggle
the Wheel we are all nailed to
I Recognize It
as simply as the Earth circles the Sun
powerless to stop it's momentum
my thoughts sway like a pendulum
Is it better to be blind and dumb
than to succumb to the need to seek
ignorance is just not being aware...in some ways, i wouldn't mind going back to the innocence and ignorance of youth...
but then, i would be fooling myself, wouldn't i?
i like your poetry...it makes us reflect on many questions about ourselves and society...

Thank you so much for your kind words. I always enjoy reading yours and I'm humbled to hear you like what I have to say.
"Is it better to be blind and dumb
than to succumb to the need to seek
the Truth ?"
I would say there are different situations that call for its merits.. I think it's a bliss that we don't know when we'll die because if we'd known that we wouldn't have been able to enjoy life to it's fullest and only think of our doom to come... Same can be said about truth..
This being said, I really like the train of your thoughts and how you represented it.. Thought-provoking indeed! 👍

The universe surely has its secrets, and for good reason! I wouldn't appreciate much if I knew when my time would be up, I think.. but I'd love to live in a world with more truth about what's out there taking place or how we came to be today.
Glad it sparked some thoughts !
Ah, a question as old as time. I won't attempt to go one side or the other - I think the dilemma is what you've written about, and done it quite nicely and succinctly. My favourite part is the rhyming of dumb and succumb, and then the way you append 'The Truth?' as though the need to seek just on its own might also be a valid pursuit. Which I could argue for.
There's a few things I'd suggest could be improved grammatically, although I always wonder at this point whether the 'mistake' was intentional. But here goes:
- the Wheel we are all nailed to ... a bit clunky to finish on 'to'; maybe something like 'the Wheel to which we are tethered'
- Capital letters seem to me to be almost random. If they are meant to emphasise key words, then why not 'Momentum' and/or 'Pendulum'?
- it's momentum should be its ....
But my overall impression is that you have posed this age-old question very well, and it's interesting to see some opinions in the review comments. I think that shows it's caused a flutter and prompted response, which is pretty much all that most of us can hope for!

The capitalization was intentional, I was trying to use repetition, cycle, wheel, recognize as proper nouns... like there is only one for everyone.. where as in the second half I am connecting all that to those proper nouns, if that makes any sense? I don't know! haha I make this stuff up as I go usually so I'm not surprised it comes off a little distracting! Sorry!
The it's is definitely a mistake. I typed this one out with my phone and it always turns its to it's for some reason! Forgot to fix it.
So happy you caught the point I was trying to make though with the concept of seeking the truth. Just seeking to seek it. All I can hope it that other people may read this and question or feel like they are not alone !
Thank you again for taking the time to comment. I always appreciated your kind words!
No. I can't agree with that.
Ignorance may FEEL like it is blissful, but on the other hand to sit and watch the world and life spin round in front of you and turn a blind eye to certain happenings is to admit defeat to a certain extent. To avoid confrontation and live a blinkered life. Seeing only what one wants to see and hearing only what one wants to hear. I believe no good ever comes from taking that approach. No lessons are learned because no harm is done. No harm. No lessons. No growth.
Another deep, thought provoking write. One that will certainly have many different opinions expressed on it.

Thank you! I agree, I'll take truth over ignorance any day but it can be a lonely road..
must be on the same wheel.
two different directions
the spinning and the back and forth
yet aren't sure if we want to see
straight for the last question at hand.

Hah how very true! Thank you for reading and commenting. It's very appreciated.
You asked a very good question.
"Is it better to be blind and dumb
than to succumb to the need to seek "
The above line is answered simply. Few try to know and find the truth. Really fall into the pack of the blind people. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I like the poetry that ask questions.

I agree. I'm the same. The more I know. The less I understand and you are welcome.
