Waking Up and Reaching Out

Waking Up and Reaching Out

A Poem by A.marie.speaks

The world
Is full of pain
And I am
Disgusted
I have mustered
Enough contempt
To darken even the lightest of hearts
And I have only started
To scratch the surface
Of this
Grotesque
Scab
Covering humanity
How could we
be blind
To this cancerous lump
Malignant and festering
Infecting every cell
Mutating our souls
Controlling our minds
Choking out the only home
We will ever know..
Until every seed that grows
Sprouts toxic leaves
And distorted petals
Only then
Will we try to pretend
We never knew it would end
Like this..

This is brilliant and intense. This works equally well as a warning and as an observation of our own demise.
I love the intensity of the words, which I know I have already mentioned, but it was so well done I thought I would mention it again :)
Superb.

your passion is tantamount in this poem ... i feel your angst and frustration .. no doubt ... i hope you will revisit this one in a more steady state of mind and heart .. and post it again .. revised and precise ... the scope of your poem is overwhelming .. like the ox yoke on shoulders loaded .. drains my face of blood

I guess to every sad moment there is an end

i guess going home is the way to find healing

but to get there
we work through so much emotions

wondering if there is someone who will hold that hand
and make this journey easier

or is it one more instance of being strong alone

quite a beautiful write
