When you finally find it, You'll see how its fadedA Poem by AmaraJay_You'd rest that trembling chin between the crook in a sharp shoulder blade, the sweet small crevice where you fit oh, so perfectly. It was like there were no two people, capable of ever breath the same sky-riddled blue air, the pale and wondrous. slim slipping soaked to the bone feeling, that drained down my spine every time I saw you. ...And the flames, Would carve their way up a throat, soaked like crimson stains, that shined through a metallic taste. The flipped coin would reveal nothing but the truth Of a reckless form of bitter superstition. Two birds on a wire, Two birds of a feather. With hands for claws, That slipped tiredly into one another, nimble, pink-tipped fingers, Soaked in gold, Drenched in love, Hidden love. Not true love. You never wanted to be Icarus, Because I was the sun. © 2021 AmaraJay_ |
