Everyday

Everyday

A Poem by Amanda

Everyday I get up,

knowing the day ahead may bring me

nothing but mixed emotions.

Every morning I go to school,

or shall I say- dramaville...

and even though I know what to expect from that place,

it's still hard to keep the smile on my face,

because of what may be going on.

Every afternoon I go home,

I feel like I've gotton the taste,

of what it's like to waste,

such precious time doing pointless things.

Every night I lay in bed,

thinking about my day.

But hey,

doesn't everyone?

When I dream,

it sometimes seems,

to be better then the reality I may have faced that day.

But I'm getting through it,

I have to.

Just holding my head up sometimes seems harder,

but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try,

to be me, and be proud.

Not change for anyone.

Anything.

At all.

Everyday I face reality.

We all do.

The last two lines were great. They really wrapped up the whole thing nicely. This piece flowed well, and you really captured what it's like to be emotionally strained in high school. Kudos.
