Can you see the way I look at you?

The way my eyes turn with hurt as I remember what we had.

I watch as you wrap your arms around her, the feelings of the past washing over me.

I remember the way your arms wrapped around me.

I remember the way you smiled at you.

Then it all comes crashing down.

I remember the pain you caused me.

I remember the abuse both verbal and physical.

I remember the way you broke my heart.

But then I meet him.

He was there for me when you left me alone.

He took me to the hospital when you left me on the floor bleeding and on the verge of dying.

Can you see the smile on my face as I turn and run to him?
