What's My Opinion?

What's My Opinion?

A Poem by Amanda
"

That's a hell of a question.

"

I've asked myself countless times,

Each time the answer changes.

Either my opinions are that volatile,

Or the person responding is.

I answer for my parents,

For my friends,

For the person I feel the need to be,

But not for the person I want to be.

When was the last time,

The last time I thought for myself.

When I viewed my opinions as my opinions,

Without concealing them behind fallacies.

In all honesty,

I don’t know.

Opinions change as we experience new things,

As we revisit the old.

Opinions must be molded,

Carefully crafted through time.

I will find my own,

Even if it takes a lifetime,

I will discover my opinion.
