Maybe I'm Meant To Be Lonely

Maybe I'm Meant To Be Lonely

A Poem by Amalie

Maybe I'm meant to be lonely
With my heart so far away
I don't know if I'd recognize it
Or the words to say

Maybe I'm meant to be lonely
In a house out by the concrete sea
Locked inside a window
Just paper, pen and me

Maybe I'm meant to be lonely
An observer looking on
Here to record the days of long
Long after all are gone

Maybe I'm meant to be lonely
Everyone has their place
But it’s awful hard to be lonely
With a smile on my face

What I love about this poem, is that I can relate. Because sometimes I truly think I'm meant to be lonely... But that's besides the point, this poem was well constructed, flowed well and kept a steady rhythm. Over all, an excellent write.
