Wingless-Angel

Wingless-Angel

A Poem by Amalie

Never let them see you sweat
Never let them see you cry
Trust me here you've got to try
If you ever want to learn to fly

Never let them see you crack
Through the seems and up the back
Even though its never easy as all that

But I've got myself a crystal ball
And I've found what I was looking for
An angel, yes, and nothing more

So never let them see you break
And never let them see life take
Away the good and leave the reast
At least you tried and did your best

As I can see through my crystal ball
The angel I was looking for
Was once here, but is no more
gone off trying to settle a score

So here I sit trying to make
Philosophies off his mistakes
Never once thought to be mad
Hope inside me makes me glad

But I'll never let them see me quake
With fear at all I had to take
From petty lies, to horrible truths
That spans a life, and I the proof

But one thing my crystal ball won't say
is will my angel come back someday
Its hard to date, its hard to plan
And time falls through like grains of sand

So I'll never let them see me sweat
I'll never let them see me cry
Even when little pieces of me die
I'll thank God the rest is still alive

I'll never let them see me crack
I'll never let them see me break
I'll never let them see life take
The best of me and leave the rest
At least I tried, I must confess

I'll never let them see me quake
With fear and just let them all take
The things that I had once held dear
Deep down inside I find i fear
The things that once had brought me joy
Were worthless things and petty toys
That in the quiet brought me noise

So one day I hope to meet up again
With my wing-less angel and my friend
Imperfect, yes, in every way
But I must say its quite ok

I think (from my experience) it is very difficult to admit you are weak. Yet I believe in one's weakness, one will gain strength. I used to be the girl who had on a smile 24/7... then I learned the reason why... I was insecure. We all have our different masks... that is the beauty of being human. You did an amazing job with this poem. Kudos :)
