Patty's Pint

Patty's Pint

A Poem by A.Pinto
"

Ode to one of my favourite holidays.

"

A night of pleasure and of fun,

Pass a drink to everyone;

Fill the streets with song and dance;

'Tis a night of luck and chance.

Pass the Pint from hand to hand,

Have it shared across the land,

Fill it up with amber cheer ,

Enough to last throughout the year;

And when the content's looking slim,

Fill it back up to the brim,

Pour in some Ambrosia; liquid gold -

Keeps you young and makes you bold.

Hear booming voices fill the air,

Tuck a clover in her hair;

Take her hand and spin her 'round,

And when she laughs, enjoy the sound;

'Tis better to join in too,

As well as sing, if does please you;

And if you don't feel that merry,

Swig from that Pint so glary,

And if you should desire more,

There are spirits shared galore.

'Tis not the time to worry, think,

Or cry; tonight's the night we drink!
