I so wished that you loved me

But it’s very clear you don’t,

It’s not because you can’t,

But it’s because you won’t…

 

Holding ourselves in our brokenness,

Our hearts are so the same,

We laugh and smile and put up a good front

But withdraw greedily into our pain…

 

When others dance across

That looming invisible line,

We both run and quickly hide

Pretending that everything’s fine…

 

When will our aching pain heal?

And the sting of death’s embrace

When will we love others with

Fear and protectiveness no trace?

 

Just walk the path with me my friend

I’m not asking for a lovers hold

Let’s be extra gentle with each other

Until the time of our healing we behold…

Live hard…
