Excelsis 38:01

A Story by GypsyDanger

We are all of us fools that bade the shadows well, then run to the light; drawn like moths to the flame, we throw ourselves to the fire as sacrifices, marveling as we burn,-surprised!- as if we thought it wouldn't hurt...
We pluck forbidden apples with the intent of playing God, but cast them down half-eaten to the worms, and we become the fruit. A swan takes its final flight before a bleeding sun, weeping at the war of clouds above; the sky shatters. They are all of them combined, but we see only pieces. We follow deceit to make sense of lies, and create from it History to justify our hollow cause.

We are children borne of ashes....
weathering the storm.
The sun then sets the swan alight,
and we are cast from bone.
Sheep without a shepherd, lost,
for us, there is no rest.
The wolves, they howl and draw us in,
and we are made of flesh.
We consume the marrow from our bones,
for we are the sacrificial pawn.
Still we hark that reminiscent sound,
for THIS is the Golden Dawn.
