Summer DaysA Poem by Alyx
Your arm is around my waist,
The feeling so familiar but so distant. Cobwebs start falling off memories from another time. Warm summer days. A boy and a girl filled with innocent love. Profound words are whispered naively, "I love you...." Said in my bed or in the pool? Tears start falling, each questioning the validity of your whispers. Seven years of silence calms the raw emotions. Adulthood fills the gap, and the tears are forgotten. Your hand caresses my face and in its wake there is a question, Will the tears fall? "I love you so much" My heart is squeezed by a cold grip of fear. Your voice is trembling with torment. Uncertainty replaces fear as the memories become more vivid, A boy and a girl filled with innocent love on warm summer days with whispered confessions. © 2013 Alyx |
