Inner Fight

A poem about an inner conflict over a bad lover.

I fight the urge to go your way

I close my eyes and try to stay

I feel you pull but I can play

You won’t leave or walk away

from an easy girl, so they say

I tried to be nice for once

but I traveled back to a life of pain and loss

but now I see my mistake

with you here in this place

I thought I would be fine

without loves wine

but now I know differently

and

I don’t know how much longer

I can keep this up

my body’s aching

for your lust

you call at my soul

and it tries to move

it will do

anything for you
