A Poem by Alysia
"

growing up and moving on

"
17
We used to believe in fairy tales
&
We used to dream impossible things.

Life was simpler then.
We couldn't wait to grow up back then.
Now we stay up late, and think out loud.
just trying to figure this whole thing out.
Sometimes our dreams turn into nightmares,
and our hope slips away.

Our only wish is to go back.
Take a vacation to the past.

Life was simpler then.
We couldn't wait to grow up back then.
but now we're turning 17
only a year away till we are free.

We can no longer look back.
There is not a road to the past.

A new life will begin again.
Full of starts and full of ends.

One day,
someday,
we'll have it all figured out,

Right now we are 17.
We have an entire year until we are free.

I admire the line: "Sometimes our dreams turn into nightmares".
"Past" never comes back. We can`t change it but, sometimes, we all do wish to be with it because, past`s past and it means, every moment we do live in getting faded away into the ashes of rest of the pieces of life. With age.. maturity comes but with maturity... the old memories of past also come in life. This poem`s expressing the shades of past, memories & love. The memories`re not made to be vanished so easily. They`re very close to heart and the heart`s damn close to love. So, live it. Whether the memories`re bad or good.. I say, just live it. Live it. Live it & live it freely because, once the time gone, it`s not gonna come back again ov`r the layers of life. Nice imagery!
