Come homeA Poem by Alysiamissing themThe moment was quiet. The world was at ease, All except the whisper of the wind, blowing through the trees. We lay awake, in separate beds, & in separate cities. The nights are long, and lonely. They talk. Softly & gentle, short & simple. he says, "I miss you" and she says, "I miss you too." He feels comfort in those words but all she feels is sad. He questions why, and it's because she's lost inside without him. A long pause, a tug at her heart strings, and then he calls her his love. She jumps inside and is stuck wondering why this has to happen now. Because, it's the distance & timing that leads to her breakdowns & crying And all she wants is for him to be around.
