The True Monsters

The True Monsters

A Poem by Alysha
"

A poem to show that I do indeed know the difference between reality and fiction, but also reveals how similar they can be.

"

This world in which we live;

Is not always what it seems.

Monsters lurk in dark corners;

Awaiting the Moons graceful beams.

I speak not of the monster;

Haunting a child’s nightmares.

But of those humans;

Caring not how their victim fairs.

They hide the truth of what they are;

With happy word and smiles all around.

But look within, to the soul;

There the evil deceit can be found.

Wretched being of darkness;

Hurting those who dare get close.

Twisting them with lies and hatred;

Destroying those who care the most.

Deep within themselves they hide;

Waiting for their perfect chance.

The monster churns within;

Preying on life’s happen-stance.

Searching and observing;

Choosing those thought weak.

Forcing and beating;

Lust-filled pleasure is what they seek.
