Remember Me

Remember Me

A Poem by Alysa

Who knew heartbreak could bring such sorrow?

The pain in my chest overwhelming my world,

I'm hopeful that it shall not be there tomorrow.

Sitting in this window while watching over thee,

My heart cannot help but wonder,

Will he remember me?

The blazing passion that was once mine,

I only read in books day after day,

Time after time.

For she may be the one,

But I shall remain here,

Until the world is gone.

Even after that, my love, your love shall set me free,

But remember,

I shall wait for all eternity.

I simply hate that guy now. This poem reaches out and touches my heart. It has a sad yet hopeful tone to it and that makes it a great poem.

Heartbreaks are the most horrible thing to deal with. How is it that when you think you let the right people in, then take advantage and leave dirt near the welcome mat? They don't bother sticking around long enough to clean up the mess that they created. Even if it just starts off small, all the emotional pressure adds up and sometimes you can't take anymore of this. Like your last poem, you made lots of emotions present. Sometimes when you don't think you mean a lot to that person that you neglect to see it when they do show you. I'm really impatient, so I cringe at the word 'waiting' haha.

Anyways, beautiful work! The rhyme scheme is perfect.

This was beautiful. I loved it. Sweet and sorrowful, but yet there was a hopefulness to it, too. Nice job. It made me smile. :)
