Love Remains the Same

Love Remains the Same

A Poem by Alysa

You know what you did,

You broke my heart in two.

But is it so bad,

That I still love you?

They all say that it's done,

That everything is dead and gone.

This is finished beautifully,

Like every image I've ever drawn.

So I'll sit here,

On your front steps with the blame.

But never forget,

That my love remains the same.

I know the feeling all too well, my dear. Loving someone when they've hurt you only makes things complicated and you seem to question everything. Love is such a confusing topic for the human brain, and I don't think any of us really understand it. Fictional love you see in books and movies is the self-deception way to tell yourself that there will always be the one that will treat you perfect. But when you think you found the one...your intuition fails again.

I love how short it is but how sweet and sad the words still manage to be.
"You know what you did,
You broke my heart in two.
But is it so bad,
That I still love you?

They all say that it's done,
That everything is dead and gone."

Is really my favorite part because of how the words and letters flow together, and the way they sound in the air and feel in your mouth. Really well done.

This is finished beautifully,
Like every image I've drawn.

Loved these lines.
