love not a secret

love not a secret

A Story by Alycia M.

Once upon a time, there was a girl and a boy.
The girl loved the boy and the boy knew that and loved her back,
But the girl did not know the boy loved her.

The boy and the girl went through the beginning of their lives too nervous to tell each other their feelings.

One day, the girl was walking up to the boy.
The girl finally had enough courage to tell the boy she loved him.
As she started to tell the boy, his friends started to laugh and make fun of her.
They laughed at her attempt to express her feelings.
When the boy's friends asked him if he really liked her too,
He feared they would laugh at him if he told the truth.

The boy lied and said "her? Me? Never! Not even if I had to die."

When the girl heard this she cried and ran all the way to her house.
Realizing what he had done, the boy ran after her, but was too late and gave up.

That night, while the boy was trying to sleep, he heard fire truck and ambulance sirens down the street.
The boy ran to his window and saw that they were at the house of the girl.

The boy ran out the door and down the street to the girl's house.
The ambulance drivers had her on a stretcher.
The boy ran to the girl's side and started to cry.

The girl's skin was pale, so pale.
She was weak.

The girl's mother was crying by her car and yelling and screaming.

After the girl ran home from the boy she cried for hours.
After crying she got mad at herself for even loving the boy.
The girl ran to her mother's bathroom and opened the cabinet.
She took out every single pill in there.

The girl ran to the kitchen and swallowed them down with alcohol.

The girl ran to her room and closed the door.
She said good bye to all the belongings she had and grabbed the only picture of the boy she had.

The girl lay down on her bed hugging the picture of the boy.
Then she fell asleep.

The girl's mother got home to the girl asleep and barley breathing.

The boy cried and cried standing next to the weak girl.

"I love you. I always have. I love you." He said to the girl over and over again.

The girl said,

"I love you too. I always have. I forgive you. I love you."

Then the girl closed her eyes one last time and died.

Smiling.

The boy cried and cried but he knew in his heart that one day. Someday. He will be with his love again.

Soon.
