Are we ever alone;

Beyond all this, the wish is to be alone.
To feel no pain,
To have no one to hurt you.
But if that's the case,
Then why aren't we all alone?
Sitting in the dark reassuring safeness of our minds,
Keeping to ourselves.
Maybe in some unbalanced part of our minds,
We like the pain.
Need it to feel alive.
Does it make us strong?
Or break us down to this point.
Where beyond all this, the wish is to be alone

I like it, and I think about half of this country can identify with this, so there should be more than my simple comment on this poem of yours!! After reading this poem, what stuck out to ME was that the beats of your words that you chose to use, would work great for a Sonnet if you were to ever try one. This poem sounds like you were problem-solving, and I hope that when you DO write because something is on the brain, that you finally find what you are looking for. xoxo -Mark
