Shadows of the Light

Shadows of the Light

A Poem by Aly-Cat
"

Darkness and dreams.

"

Darkness falls here comes the night

The world drifts into sleep

While these creatures lose their sight

Those children begin to weep

Dreams of laughter fog the mind

Memories linger within

Of when their life was simple and kind

Of how it should've been

Sinister shadows lurking about

Hidden in every turn

Wondering souls clouded with doubt

Searching for life to earn

As the vision comes to fade

These ghosts begin to dwindle

Oh how they wish they hadn’t strayed

The feeling about to kindle

Catching fire the picture burns

And the life is long forgotten

A glance of light slowly returns

Washing away the rotten

With one last breath the night does fall

To greet this new born day

A life is formed, as you stand tall

The sun releases its ray

This is very nice work, although I do believe it could be better, especially since you have a very descriptive style. I prefer not to critique, but a couple of lines could be polished. Of course though, you probably already know that.
