Snow, Wind, Fire

Snow, Wind, Fire

A Poem by Ian Barnhill

Snow

When Winter arrives,

the snow shall fall

after Autumn’s end

and the leaves

have fallen. The world

shall be embraced

in a white blanket

of frozen crystal,

as the earth dwells

into long slumber.

Wind

The Wind comes and goes

in tranquil season

it is peaceful,

but in times of

thunder and storm.

The rage of the wind

fills the atmosphere

of the earth itself.

No living soul

can predict

changing times

of the wind.

As only The Lord

in Heaven knows.

Fire

Fire is the source

of nature’s warmth

and light.It is what

what lights an oil lamp

and brings warmth to

a glowing fireplace.

It can also bring havoc

and destruction.

Destroying

great forests and towns,

and consuming

everything in it’s path.

One must be careful

with fire,as it can provide

a luminary light and warmth,

and yet is dangerous

and unpredictable.
