Terror Tot: The Slithering

A bite sizes horror story that’s easily digestible.

     There are those who are terrified by things that slither such as  snakes, mucous covered worms, or seeing an octopus dragging itself towards you on the beach as the horrid teens behind you maliciously laugh while they twirl their mustache if it’s thick enough to do so. The multi legged centipedes with their venomous bite and harmless millipedes don’t slither but seeing such insects bring equal measures of terror to some.

     What of the slithering things you don’t see as you lay in the comfort of your bed at night. The intrusive thoughts that slither in to your subconscious and turn that pleasant dream of floating in the clouds only to turn into a frightful fall to the ground below. Will you wake before you hit rock bottom, or will the paper read, John Q Public dies quietly in their sleep?
