Peepers

Peepers

A Poem by Lore Keeper

Shiver down the spine
Almost like you’re being watched
Don’t worry, you are.

Oh, I know that feeling! It is unmistakable when one feels it and you have captured that knowing superbly in this succinct poetic gem, dear poet.
About five years ago while shopping, the feeling was so acute I eventually gave in and turned around to see who was behind me. There was nobody there, but my heart as well as my eyes were drawn to a little cerise Gerbera plant which was dying for the want of water. I could not turn my back on its call for help. I bought it at full price, though dying, there was no discount and I brought it home, transplanted it into another flower pot, soaked it overnight in water, drained it and you would not believe it was the same plant! It was fully alive, no longer falling over and it lived for four years after that, flowering beautifully each year!
Please forgive me adding that little story, dear L. K... I just felt I should share it with you.
I love your poem and will be back later to read another!
I enjoyed reading very much and thank you for sharing. Lovely work, dear poet...

Thanks Marie, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else you’ve read of mine.

I laughed! Is like having a custard pie being thrown between the shiver and the spine!

Now all I can think of is custard pie throwing clowns, an entirely different kind of chill maker.
