Bits and Pieces

Bits and Pieces

A Poem by Kasey Jones

There are phrases, bits and pieces of poems
That've been floating in my head for days.
I need to get them onto paper
And make something of them.

I feel like a mama bird pushing her babies out of the nest,
Hoping I've done enough so they know how to become something great.
My pen is ready, like a talon waiting to kick,
But I don't think these thoughts are ready.

I feel you on this one. I've had so many ideas floating around, all I want to do is write lately. I like the comparisons at the end. The bird idea extends its way through the second stanza, it's pretty interesting. The emphasis on make gives this poem an even more interesting rhythm than its already loose scattered rhythm. A good job.
