Fisherman

Fisherman

A Poem by Kasey Jones

Wrinkled skin holds together
Years of salt, wind, and weather.
Knowing eyes have gone through more
Pain than most, they still adore
Silky waves and starry nights.
Spends his time searching for lights
That will signal his safety.
He'll no longer fight the sea.
Until of course the next time.
He'll return, for it's a crime
To stop doing what you love.

The first image in my head was that guy in the yellow raincoat - you know, the fish stick man, isn't his name Gorton? After that though, I really liked this poem. It's good with the rhythm and rhyme, and overall tells a good story. Muy bien :D

This is great! You really capture the view and emotions of the fishermen. It's different than your other poems, but it's excellent.

This is a different point of view yet you manage to express the feelings of it very well and give us an image of what it's like
