Pain

Pain

A Poem by Kasey Jones

A quiet, unguarded moment
And the pain seeps in
Onto your face.
And I see it.

After years of neglect
The damage is done.
The past is now
Your only future.

Tears cloud your eyes
But you won't let me see.
I can help you
If only....
You'd let me.

Broken pieces of your life,
Are scattered by across the yard.
Why did you walk away?
Why couldn't things stay
The way they were?

Nice write about change, it happens and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it except be flexible and embrace it for what it is. We hate it when it is happening, and in another breath we say, things happen for a reason. Good job.

I like it. You're going insane on the writer's cafe. The last two lines of the second stanza are a bit out of rhythm... After soul in the last stanza, put a comma to symbolize the one thought. By our special tree? Doesn't that sound familiar? (I'm joking with you.)
