Midnight Trickery

Midnight Trickery

A Poem by Kasey Jones
"

Nobody likes admitting that they're afraid of the dark, but it happens to everyone.

"
Under my eyelids,
I see peace.
Meadows and sunsets,
These are my dreams.
But when I awake,
In the midst of the darkness.
My ears hear things
That bring horror.
An innocent creak,
The wind's serenade.
These can all make me afraid.
So I pull up the blankets,
And squeeze my eyes shut.
Sleep comes soon,
But it seems like forever.
The morning sun greets me
With a smiling face.
I'm ready to start my day.
When you see the day in full light,
It no longer gives you a fright.

Actually, although unbalanced, the first 3 1/2 verses paint a great picture. the ending kinda comes to a thud. look at it again and try some different endings.
poetry/prose never has a date to be completed by attached.

The poem flows very smoothly. You may want to change TV's speak to something in nature like owls or something that sounds better than owls...
