Midnight TrickeryA Poem by Kasey JonesNobody likes admitting that they're afraid of the dark, but it happens to everyone.
Under my eyelids,
I see peace. Meadows and sunsets, These are my dreams. But when I awake, In the midst of the darkness. My ears hear things That bring horror. An innocent creak, The wind's serenade. These can all make me afraid. So I pull up the blankets, And squeeze my eyes shut. Sleep comes soon, But it seems like forever. The morning sun greets me With a smiling face. I'm ready to start my day. When you see the day in full light, It no longer gives you a fright.
