Detached

Detached

A Poem by Kasey Jones

Thoughts float
Through the air.
I sense the hurt
In people I love.

They watch from afar
As I drift away.
I need an anchor
Or I'll be as far away as a star.

I walk through life
Detached
From the way the world is
And the things people say.

I don't want to be
Nearby when the damage
Accumulates and finally
The world falls apart.

Very devastating poem. Tragedy is everywhere and the short line amongst long lines symbolizes the abnormalities and expected in catastrophes. A very excellent poem.
