Crime of Truth

Crime of Truth

A Poem by AlteredReality

Pins me to the stone, crowded and alone,

Delivers the despicable deed,

Hands, feet bound, inhaling the ground,

Detest, appall " sagaciously need.

Rips open my eyes, reveals, I despise,

Tearing and clawing my frozen skin,

Though rendering dumb, I pray to be numb,

Writhing under such horrible sin.

Irises exposed and dislocated toes,

Hammering in my loins like flames fanned,

Suspension in mesh sinks into my flesh,

Cares not, the glass in my sight, expand.

Lift my reddened ear, crane to hear,

From mountains behind, a luscious strain,

Shrieks of the found, lost laughs expound,

Raking hands heave and gaping crags remain.

Compressed heart’s blood drains down through mud,

Invigorates the dying, dismiss offense,

As the vessel decays, harsh relief brays,

Conscience shoves aside, forget pretense.

New clarity returns, pale mint air burns,

Shaking limbs construct gray spheres of light,

Restrain melts in droves, encircling peaked snows,

Battered and anew, the descent stands upright.

The last verse is the best for me. The creativity seems to mount and the last verse is a tumult of great ideas and images.
