Morbid Legacy

Morbid Legacy

A Poem by Alraune

 MORBID LEGACY

Crimson splatters on the ground,

The morbid legacy of eternity

As silent screams race my pulse

My spirit banished with the flow

Trapped in the screams,

The darkness tore my blinding eyes

The sacrifice of losing myself;

My soul ripped apart,

Caught in the shadows,

Beneath, where I encased myself,

An avenue of broken dreams,

My hopes, where it lay asleep;

Falling forever,

Through pain and deceit,

Tormented, defeated by you,

I can’t break through;

Stirring truth and lies,

As I lay a thousand feet below,

In a world where nowhere was I;

In the darkness no more did I know myself,

The cold cloaked me;

No, I can’t hold onto.....

My twisted soul no longer would fly;

Confined in these chains of mine,

I keep going under,

In your faults do I drown;

Tears come no more,

No need to bleed,

There’s nothing left there;

Don’t want to forget my fears,

Don’t want to let it go,

But I can’t hold onto;

The cool rush of warmth,

The ashes of the past it freed me from,

Couldn’t hide the emptiness, let it show...

Can’t break free until I let it go;

The melody of the crimson,

Reaches a peak of frenzy,

Until then,

There is no more....
