Shoot for the skies

Shoot for the skies

A Poem by Alpris
"

I felt inspiration this morning.

"
There is a reason we cannot fly.
We may dream of it,
                             outstretched limbs
                                                               to the outstretched sky

leaving the stench of failure behind.

Pay no mind to the muddy grey skies
that do not rain for you glory and pride.
For a reason, we were born without wings
but with potential and values fit for a King.

When you're famous, don't thank the Heavens that sing,
for it twas your light that never died

and if you reach the top
before the world stops
you are a superhero

with an endless glow.

Thank you, both!

no Michael, it's meant to be "you" not "your"... like in terms of raining for you, not raining for your.
But thank you! gives me hope :D

Very inspirational write. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It has a very good flow to it.
In line #8, that do not rain for you glory and pride...."your" instead of "you?"
I look forward to reading more of your work.
