good & evil

good & evil

A Poem by Alpris

The beauty of birth
is the birth of beauty itself;
to not be born inside a mother's egg
but the world inside the child's life.
the people who call him evil
his mother who calls him a good boy
thus, the birth of two sides.

Those two sides
giving birth to a land called heart.
and an ocean called blood.
A heart cannot expand without its blood
and the blood cannot flow without its heart

let's say...
the volcano is due to erupt soon
all it takes is a push to the rocky edge
and the blood that had boiled inside for so long
     bursts out
everyone stands near the cliff, watching
they don't wanna get too close to the edge
or they might lose their heads, too.

don't touch the blood, or you might get burnt.

but the heart and blood belong together. or there's no life.

the boy knows nothing but the life around him
as hooks remain embedded into his palms
    the catch of the day
from either side, one side tugs

they gave birth to the meaning of evil and good
but the boy must choose one to feel wanted.
he is actually getting
really f*****g sick

of being torn between two worlds
not the simple singular one he believed in

do you think if he picks a side that might shut up the voices he hears? to pick one side, the one that makes his heart climax.
with a contract claiming he owes only his soul
costing him disregard of those around him

he needs to be happy, he needs to feel necessary.
