look out.

look out.

A Poem by Alpris

once again I have turned and began to walk back to my window that window slathered in dust like permanent smog poisonous; so that i'm drawn once again to its smear somehow? glass with magnet's kiss. I will peer out again, expectantly ; through cracks that allow sunshine I am always looking for the bright side.... but not necessarily looking for anything in particular. My eyes will travel over the townsfolk but not looking for anyone in particular. i am definitely looking for something and someone, and I know if I don't find it quickly the rusty clock will die with a painful whinge. that always hurts my f*****g ears; threatening a fate so far. my voice is dripping in misery
there's something there but my words are as dry as an eagle's wing. don't you know that? i am alone in a tower and going mad.

I liked this. There is a flow and rhythm to this like someone waiting and pacing the floor, back and forth... back and forth.
It gives me a sense of expectancy and being anxious. The calm of wanting something to happen or to begin before its started. I can feel the frustration. Good write!
