wait in wind

wait in wind

A Poem by Alpris

wind whistles
threatens to
expose raw innocence
beneath
corduroy blinds ;

heels in
earth's clay

         begging for more

lit cigarette
hovers over
timid grass
she sits ;

waits
dares him to
whiz past with
flashing teeth
cheeks pressing eyes
                knowingly
she begs for more ;
knife burning holes
through
the skin of
her pocket.

I liked the concept of writing you used. The brief snippets of lines are a powerful tool. Sadly I couldn't connect with the scene you wished to paint. I felt you had it in your mind but I missed it in the whisper of so few words.
