My Heart Lies With You

An Original Poem

Those little strands of hair

that you brush from my eyes.

I look up and your smile takes me by surprise. 

I love this way you make me feel,

it seems almost too good to be real…

Like I’ve been living a dream.

And in it, my heart always sings. 

It cries out for you as you leave,

half of me suddenly feels incomplete. 

When I’m with you, time flies by. 

You fill my mind with butterflies <3

When you look at me from above,

I know this feeling is love. 

You are all I see,

all I want and all I need. 

You’ve helped me learn how to shine,

and feel more confident in the skin that is mine. 

I love you so much; forever until I die…

You’re the only one for me.

With you, I am complete.
