finding little joys

finding little joys

A Poem by AlphaDelta
"

based on personal experiences

"
you see me dancing in the parking lot
head up towards the sky
stand at the edge of the cracked concrete
and quietly whisper 'why'

stepping out on the blackened road
you gently take my hand
there's no music playing anywhere
but we sway where we stand

i see you looking at me now
when you think that i can't see
you tell me about your future's questions
and i wonder if the answer's me

squeeze your hand and pull you close
you wrap me in an embrace
rest my head against your beating chest
listen to my saving grace

i find joy in the smallest things
and i know you watch me as i do
questioning me about what i like most
don't you know the answer is you?

Yes, there's little joys, as you describe, when falling in love. I like the ending.
